New Year’s Resolutions are huge in the first month or two of the year, but what about the other ten to eleven months? How does one keep track of their goals, dreams, wants, needs, etc. I personally haven’t made a New Year’s resolution in years, but I do believe in creating a bucket list.
A lot of times, a person will make one or two goals for the year, and just focuses on achieving “those” goals. With a “bucket list” you can focus on several goals, wants, needs, and simply check them off as you achieve them.
I am a firm believer that you have to put things in writing and have to make a deadline. A deadline will hold you accountable and responsible for your own progress and success. You can create a short term list with things you would like to achieve by the close of the current year, or you can create a list with longer deadlines; maybe even a few years.
At the beginning of this year, I created a bucket list of things that I would like to achieve before the end of 2018. So far, I can say I have had a pretty good start and have crossed more than a few things off of my list.
If you guys haven’t done so already, try making a list of goals and wants. Start with maybe five things at first and give yourself a good time window, for your deadline. They don’s have to be drastic goals, but can be as simple as “I would like to try out a new restaurant for dinner”.
Once you begin to put things in writing, and you continue to live your daily life, you will begin to see that you are able to cross items off your list, effortlessly. This hopefully, will then motivate you to begin to tackle the bigger babies that need a little more effort and commitment from you.
